Matthew Cochran, July 27, 2018 -Baroque on Beaver
Cochran is a guitarist, composer, and educator whose musical activities crisscross a variety of expressions ranging from classical to jazz and popular music.Dr. Cochran grew up in Pennsylvania and earned degrees from Florida State University and the University of Rochester's fabled Eastman School of Music. Dr. Cochran is an Instructor of Guitar at the Interlochen Arts Academy.
Praised by Soundboard Magazine for his "commanding stage presence" and "intimate expression", Cochran has performed across Europe and America. Dr. Cochran will make his Baroque on Beaver debut on July 27, performing works of Bach, Sanz, Sor, Brouwer, Albeniz, Granados, and Piazzolla. This is a ticketed event.
Kevin Cole, July 28, 2018 - Baroque on Beaver Gala
Kevin Cole has delighted audiences with a repertoire that includes the best of 20th-century American music. Cole is appearing in 17th Annual Baroque on Beaver Festival on July 28. This is a ticketed event.Kevin Cole's performances, especially his interpretation of Gershwin, have prompted accolades from some of the foremost critics in American music.
A native of Bay City, Michigan, Cole graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy and soon after garnered the praises of legends like Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, E. Y. Harburg, Hugh Martin, Burton Lane, Stephen Sondheim, and members of the Jerome Kern and Gershwin families. After hearing a very young Kevin Cole play, Irving Berlin said, "Kid, if I could play like that, I would never have become a songwriter!

All Festival Schedule & Information: baroqueonbeaver.orgThe Baroque on Beaver Festival presents some of Michigan’s best artists performing masterworks for the piano, voice, strings, winds, and brass. With the exception of benefit concerts, Festival admission is by free will offering.
2018 Mini Grant Application Cycle Opens

Applicants must be 18 years of age by the deadline date. Applications are judged based on cultural merit, community impact, and feasibility. The project must benefit the Beaver Island community, by being located on the Island.
